South West Beaches

•February 8, 2010 • 2 Comments

As summer is getting close to finishing I though would share a few quick summery images .

Got to love the color of the water down the south west of Western Australia.

The top image was a six image stitch of a yacht anchored off Meelup Beach just outside of Dunsbrough .

The bottom image is a 3 image vertical stitch of the crystal clear waters at Yallingup .

Stirling Ranges Sunrise

Stirling Ranges Sunrise

Went through some more old images the other night again  , and found another set of images to stitch together .

This is a set of 14 images of the Stirling Ranges (Another one of my favorite photography locations in WA) . The unsized image was huge came out at over 90 inch wide at 300 DPI , thanks in part to the 20 plus mega pixels in each photo :) .  Really like the vast openness of this image so left it uncropped , and like the warm morning sun hitting the ranges in the background .

Got to head back to this location this year hopefully the light and weather will have better conditions and get some more shots of these mountain ranges (I know they dont compare much to the vista mountain ranges in USA and Europe but like the serenity and rugged beauty  of this place)

Rottnest Island Australia Day

The Basin

On Australia day headed down to North Fremantle boat lifters to catch the True North (Cruise ship ) to Rottnest Island with 100 other photographers .

The day involved various guest speakers , some lunch and drinks and a , little bit of time to go to shore and take some photos , The light wasnt the best over on Rotto but still took a couple of snaps any way . The top image was an 7 image stitch of the Basin and the bottom image was an 8 image stitch of Long Reach Bay (May be able to spot Clint in the bottom image if you look hard lol ) After we finished photographing head back to the boat for some more food and speech’s . All in all was a very nice way to spend Australia Day and good to put some faces to names  .

After that we headed back to the boat to head back to main land . Thanks to Christian for organizing  the day and thanks to Mark Stothard for the use of his very nice boat .

It Didnt look that Far on the Map

Went through some old images from Sydney this morning   , found this series of shots which I finally got stitched together when my computer decieded to stop crashing on me arrrh , and yes its a PC lol :)

Was taken last year at a Sydney Beach , dont ask me what beach it was all I know is it was somewhere between Bondi and Coogee , I went down near Bondi to shot a beach on afternoon and though I would walk up to Coogee as it didnt look that far on the map lol . Was a very long walk especially with my camera bag on , but it was worth it found some interesting locations worth reshooting and got a really nice Thia meal when I finially got to Coogee .

Hopefully we get some decent light here in Perth soon as were well over due and have been itching to get out and photography some more locations .

Happy New year to every one , hope every one had a good Christmas break , I was working through it myself , but I did finally find a little bit of free time to go through some old images of mine .

This image of the Fremantle Warf was taken some time last year in 2009 , seem weird now writting 2010 will take me a few months to get used to it . Was a 7 image stitch taken on the 5DMKII .

Hopefully the weather improves a bit in Perth here for photos , its been clear blue skys for ages now , havent been able to go out any days recently and when theres been good weather been stuck at work lol .

My trip to the States is fast approaching , really looking foward to this and chance to take some photos of the amazing landscapes over there .

Kings Park

•November 19, 2009 • 10 Comments

Went up to Kings Park last week as it looked like it would be a nice sunset , and didn’t have enough time to drive any where else .

It was nice to get out and take some more photos again , haven’t been out shooting for a while and found it really relaxing waiting for light over looking the city .

There was some nice light but most the color was over the ocean way and being in Kings Park I was facing the wrong way .

Still took some shots while I was up there .

The first one is another shot of the Perth Skyline , Was a 10 image stitch came out a bit bigger then the normal 3:1 ratio , was not too sure where to crop it .

The second shot I took was one of the War Memorial like the symmetrical look to the image . would be nice if the left side did’nt have that big tree so close however .

Hopefully have some new images coming in the next couple of weeks .. :)

Hi all ,

Sorry been a bit quite for the last few weeks have been flat out at work , have barley had any time to surf the net let alone get any new shots .

Hopefully by the end of this month things at work should turn to a bit more normal hours , and be able to get some more trips in . Have recently bough a few extra camping things for when i go away taking photos and should make life a bit more comfortable while Im away .

Did have some free time today before work to go through some more images this was an 8 image stitch of one of the Bays at Cape Le Grande National Park just outside Epserance .

The Beach’s here are meant to be have the whitest sand and bluest water of any beach , from my experience of beach this would have to be true .

Master-Flatwhite
