Matilda Bay Boat House

Went down to the Matilda Bay Boat House the other day to have a play around with my my ten stop Singh ray filter and polarizer havent used it that much and want to get some practice with it  . Was a nice evening and got some great light .

Played around with the filter for a bit while it was still fairly light and got some pretty cool results with it . Was getting over 2 min exposures during the day with it , could have got even longer ones if I turned down the iso and increased the appuature . The only problem I found is that been such a big filter that would get vignetting even at around 24mm focal length . Did take some practice judging the exposure time to get correct expsosure but came away with a few shots . This was one of the shots I took I think it was around a 90 second exposure , did get a little bit of blown high lights but was hard to avoid with no grad filter on .

Other news I have been busy working on my website getting it all ready for launch  , Lot of work getting all the data into a website but can see the light at the end of the tunnel .

Have also been editing a lot of photos from recent trips lately so there will be a lot of new unseen images for the launch .

Hi Kirk,

I really like the cloud movement in this shot. Its also cool because it seems like everything is moving but the boatshed. Cool shot. Well done.

Very cool effect kirk, lots of potential, also to get flat long exposure waves on a sunny day would be cool.

would also work a treat in the rainforrests on the water falls

Great shot, Kirk! Day time long exposure images are rare (among all long exposure photos) and because of that they look really cool. Well done!

Got to love the 10 stop ND filter. Love this effect with the movement in the clouds and the glassy water, great shot. Does the Singh Ray filter give off a colour cast? I know my B&W one does.

Great shot. I really like the repetition of blue in the cottage, sea, and sky. You have a great eye for landscape scenes.
