I’m a photographer who is passionate about landscape photography. I love to travel and capture images of the amazing landscape I encounter.  I have travelled to various locations around Western Australia and am planning trips around the rest of Australia and the world. I grew up in the country town of Geraldton, Western Australia. The area contrasts quite dramatically with its ancient table-top ridge hemming the town against the bluest of oceans. When visiting the coastal oasis, it’s not hard to see where I gatherd my inspiration for the dramatic. Reds of iron rich sands meets the golden hue of canola crops. Stark white sand dunes spill into the dark blue ocean to the south of the town. Dramatic Greenough trees, the only known existence that  grow sideways due to the constant summer breeze.
It’s these breathtaking contradictions, that are recognizable in much of his acquired varied career in landscape photography..

Hi mate,
I’m a fan of your work, I think you’ve a fantastic eye combined with a creative flair. I shoot a bit myself, and I was wondering what program you use to ‘stitch’ your images together? I’d like to give it a try myself.

Keep up the great work.

Hi Nick ,
Thanks .
I currently use Ptgui which is probally the best on the market , but i also use CS3 a lot as its pretty quick and havent had any problems with it . If it dosent stitch properlly in CS3 I generally go over and use PTgui . when taking the shots give your self at least 30% overlap on each frame .

Love your work Kirk! Just out of interest, do you find that when shooting panoramic you always use a panoramic head or sometimes risk it and do it with a normal tripod head? The reason I ask is I’m just pondering whether to invest in a pano head or just to brave it out and do it with a normal head.

I love your work Kirk and really would love to speak to you about buying a photo or two and also learn more about how you get these awesome shots. I too am from perth and have just brought a sexy new camera but still learning how to use it. My attempts have been “crap” to say the lease, but I am a becoming a expert at photoshoping them afterwards…but still they are crap compared to yours.

Hi Kirk,

How do I purchase a really big canvas print of your work? Red bubble only seem to do small prints of some of your work, so is it possible to get a panoramic print in the vicinity of 1.5 to 2m in length? I am interested in your south west WA coastal shots.

Thansk Kirk

Kind regards

I stumbled accross your work on the web and am very imprerssed. I do digital landscapes in the Catskill Mountains in upsate NY http://www.tischlerphotos.com and am ready to tackle pan images. I have all the best Canon equipment and Zoom L lenses etc. I am going to get PTGUI, and the Ninja head.
Is there a way I can speak with you about nuances of techniques. Have you seen Jook Leung’s work? I just met him over the weekend and wow. His site is 360vr.com
I look forward to hear from you.

I especially like your “Three Brothers” https://kirkhille.wordpress.com/2011/04/24/three-brothers/

Do you think 5D MKII is already good enough? what about the MK III? worth upgrading?

Hi Kirk,
